The Engelman Education Foundation Scholarship Application
In honor of Robbie Engelmann, a beloved mother, gifted therapist, teacher, and advocate of the underserved, the Engelmann Education Foundation awards scholarships to provide a year of free 1:1 online tutoring to lower-income students.
Scholarship recipients will meet once a week with a tutor via Zoom to receive consistent academic support and mentoring. Applicants must have access to high-speed Internet and a device for accessing Zoom, be in K through 12th grade, attend a Title I school and be recommended by a teacher and parent.* Please note that any given school or organization can only nominate one student per application period.
Applications are now closed for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Eligibility rules:
Student must have access to high-speed Internet and a device for accessing Zoom
Student must be a rising K through 12th grader
Student must attend a Title I school.
To determine if your school is Title I, please search using this site and scroll down to school details. If you're interested in nominating a student in need who does not attend a Title 1 school, please contact us at: staci@pacificpreparatory.org and we can discuss scholarship options.
Student must be recommended by a teacher and parent
Typically, students are only eligible for a single year of a tutoring scholarship. But, The Engelmann Education Foundation is able to make exceptions to this rule on a case-by-case basis should a student still meet the scholarship requirements and show thoughtful and mature commitment to the scholarship program. This commitment is made evident through consistent tutoring attendance, thoughtful engagement with their tutor, and demonstrated progress through their tutoring sessions.
Expectations: Scholarship recipients commit to meeting with a tutor on a regular basis every week that school is in session. If a student misses more than three meetings in a year they may lose the scholarship.
