Teacher of the Month⼁Introducing Eleonora F.
At Pacific Preparatory, we are so lucky to work with the most thoughtful and inspiring instructors, all who bring lessons to life with engaging connections to student interests and their community. This month, we are pleased to celebrate Eleonora, whose thoughtful and creative curriculum planning is perfectly crafted to fit each student’s unique interests, personality, and academic growth.
Eleonora (she/her/hers) graduated from National University of Cordoba in Argentina with a bachelor’s degree in law. She worked as a lawyer in the Federal Court of Argentina before moving to the United States in 2003 to pursue education. In 2004, she earned her teaching certification and began working as a bilingual educator across core subjects. In her time as an educator, she has served as an K-5 Spanish bilingual head start teacher and spent six years as a bilingual pre-K teacher. Since 2016, Eleonora has been teaching middle and high school Spanish. In addition to her work as a K-12 teacher, Eleonora has also served as an academic coach for language instructors. With Pacific Preparatory, Eleonora teaches all levels of Spanish.
When did you start teaching and why?
I started working as a teacher back in 2004 after I moved from Argentina to the United States. I decided to do this as a way of helping students learn and appreciate the Spanish language and culture. My experience has been remarkable not only as a teacher but also personally. Being a second language learner and living in a bilingual and bicultural environment, I experienced firsthand what language acquisition is, and I learned to appreciate the different cultures I’m exposed to and try to make the best of them. This experience has enriched my life immensely.
What do you enjoy most about teaching with Pacific Preparatory?
I loved to get to know and build rapport with each one of my students and families, and to see the great progress they had since the beginning of the year. Also, I enjoy working with such kind, knowledgeable, and supportive school staff members.
What has surprised you about teaching with Pacific Preparatory?
I love to learn about the personalized approach toward student learning that PacPrep has. As a teacher, I enjoy customizing and adapting educational methods and techniques to make the learning process better suited for each student, with their own unique learning styles, background, needs, and previous experiences. I feel that this approach allows students to express their curiosity and put forth their best work.
What is your favorite activity to do outside of teaching?
In my free time, I like to bake and cook foods from different countries. I also love to travel, try new restaurants and cafes, spend time, and go for walks with my family and pets.
Eleonora, we and your students are so lucky to have you on our team! Congratulations on being our Teacher of the Month!
