Traveling This Year? Let Our School Come With You

Traveling doesn’t have to mean sacrificing a quality education for your kids.

Families considering travel this year no longer have to worry about their kids falling behind academically while they’re on the road. That’s because Pacific Preparatory provides seamless one-on-one remote support for K-12 kids, wherever they are in the world.

Whether fully enrolled in our 1:1 private school or taking one to three courses “a la carte,” we can customize our curriculum to either deepen a travel experience or to fill in academic gaps, depending on what’s needed.

Our curriculum is never off the shelf and our intake process includes an in-depth meeting to discuss how we can mold our educational programming to meet the needs of each of our kids. Below, we’ve provided a few examples of the kinds of programs we’ve provided for families as they travel.

Education to Last a Lifetime

Our Oxford tutorial model means students meet one-on-one with experts in their fields. For example, a student visiting the Parthenon in Greece might simultaneously take a class in Greek history and Latin language from one of our Latin experts, providing an enriching and deepened travel experience that will stick with them long after they’ve closed their books.

Students traveling in Greece can work with an expert in Greek & Latin history to deepen their understanding of the places where they’re traveling.

Every traveling family has different needs. We’re currently working with a family traveling in Taipei and arranging a social studies unit around the history and culture of that area, including educational field trips and visits to local museums. With another family, we’re providing academic gap-filling to ensure their kids don’t fall behind, sticking to a more traditional schedule and providing a few hours per week of grade-level English Language Arts and math.

Our coursework is all accredited and students can enroll either full-time (taking a minimum of four courses) or part-time (taking one to three courses) while they travel.

Families Appreciate Our Level of care & Experience

Traveling families appreciate our bespoke, personalized approach to learning, and know that their kids will always be in great hands under the care of our experienced leadership team. Our Head of School, Jesse Roselin, has been supporting families with one-on-one school since 2002, and combined our team brings over 25 years of teaching & curriculum experience into our collaborations with traveling families.

Unlike other online schools, our academic programming emphasizes live remote classes with teachers so that students receive real-time feedback, which is so essential to retrieval practice and learning overall. We also believe in the power of the student-teacher relationship, which is extremely important in a one-on-one teaching environment.

A high school student traveling in Australia could take an accredited biology course themed around the Great Barrier Reef.

We Believe in the Educational Value of Travel

There’s no better way to learn than being immersed in another culture. In fact, Jesse Roselin in part started Pacific Preparatory to support out-of-the-box families seeking a more profound learning experience for their kids. When Jesse was in high school, he spent an entire semester traveling with his family around India, a learning experience that has stuck with him to this day.
