Teacher Features: Special Education Faculty

Pacific Preparatory is proud to work with many amazing teachers who have extensive backgrounds supporting students with learning differences. Our teachers are experts at creating customized lesson plans, made for each unique learner. Meet two of our favorite special education teachers this year!

Meet Tracia

Tracia (she/her/hers) graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Journalism and a minor in English. She holds a Montessori teaching credential and an MA in Education, with a specialty in reading instruction. She has been an early childhood teacher for 27 years and has worked with students with ADD and ADHD and dyslexia, students on the autism spectrum, gifted students, twice-exceptional students, and a wide variety of learners. After many years of experience in the elementary classroom, Tracia was invited to join the prestigious faculty of a MACTE accredited training center as both an instructor and field consultant. She was the Executive Director of Clear Lake Montessori School for more than three years. She currently serves as the school's Education Director, supporting students and families in need of virtual learning. She believes in language-based, integrated learning in the early childhood classroom. Tracia has been working with Pacific Preparatory since 2020 and specializes in working with students with learning differences.

We can’t sing Tracia’s praises enough. We thank her for all she has done for him, and thus, for our family. We treasure her work.

Meet Sarah

Sarah (she/her/hers) graduated from Asbury University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She has an expansive background as an elementary school educator, having worked in education since 1998. Sarah has worked extensively with students on the autism spectrum, students with auditory and visual processing needs, and students with dyslexia. She has enjoyed working with students of all levels in both mainstream and self-contained classrooms. Sarah also has experience with children and adolescents in clinical mental health settings. Before joining our team in 2019, she served as a special education instructional assistant in the Berkeley Unified School District. Sarah believes that every child can learn and thrive when they are given a safe and positive learning environment.

Sarah is amazing. She is a wonderful teacher for my son. She is enthusiastic, engaged, fun, comes prepared and seems to know how to manage his attention span which is very short at the moment!
