Teacher Features: STEM Faculty

Pacific Preparatory is proud to work with innovative STEM teachers who are always thinking of new and engaging ways to help their students think both logically and creatively about the world. Meet two of our favorite STEM teachers this year!

Meet KEVIN

Kevin (he/him/his) is a PhD candidate in theoretical physics at Utah State University. He earned a MS in Mathematics from Idaho State University in 2018, and a double BS in Math and Physics in 2015, also from ISU. During his advanced degree studies, he gained five years of experience teaching a variety of math courses and physics labs to college students. Additionally, he has over ten years of experience tutoring math, physics, and standardized testing to college and high school students. Kevin believes that a good teacher is patient, knowledgeable, and adaptable. They should be a great explainer, and an even better listener.

I wanted to thank Kevin for completely changing my child’s relationship with Calculus. He loves working with him and has been enjoying math! Kevin’s warmth and extensive skill set have been just what he needed to thrive.

Meet BETH

Beth (she/her/hers) graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Industrial Engineering. After becoming a parent, she transitioned her career from manufacturing to education. Beth has been working with students since 2007, when she started teaching math as a long term substitute teacher. In 2009, she joined the faculty at Cambridge Academy where she taught 7th grade math and developed the school's STEM program. Beth values being able to let students explore mathematical and science topics in creative ways, but also brings her passion about math to her lessons so that each of her students feel confident in their abilities. With Pacific Preparatory, Beth teaches math, science, engineering, and robotics.

Beth is a wonderful inspiration to math and engineering students. She is very kind, and students love her exciting presence and engaging activities.
